The Cornwall Food Foundation uses food to inspire people to make positive change in their lives and empower them to unlock their future potential. We do this through engaging training, interactive community food projects and inspiring employment opportunities.
Our community based programme, Food for Change supports people out of work to grow, cook and trade food in their community – to learn new skills, gain confidence and access inspiring employment opportunities. The Community Grow Worker will lead on the provision of food growing activities for Food for Change participants in the Truro community.
We currently have one community growing space identified in the community garden at Truro Library but this role will involve identifying other growing opportunities in the community.
Key duties include:
- To coordinate, develop and facilitate a programme of Truro community-based sustainable food growing activities for participants on Food for Change throughout the year
- Engage with the Food for Change partners, local community and participants to co-design and co-deliver at least 2 new community growing spaces promoting the shared use of public spaces.
- Record and report on all activities, participation and learning
- Take responsibility for the operational element of the food growing activities
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of leading food growing activities in a community setting.
Fixed Term Contract until 30th April 2021
Hours: 22.5 hours a week (0.6 FTE)
Salary: £22,500 pro rata
