The AGM of Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum was held on Wednesday 22nd November at the Women’s Institute in Truro. 24 members, trustees and associates attended the meeting, with a further 15 members giving their support via proxy votes.

In addition to the usual business of an AGM, Chief Executive Ian Smith gave a brief presentation on the past, present and future of VSF. In particular Ian spoke about the difficult financial situation that VSF shares with most of its members, and the proposal of VSF to become a subsidiary of a new charity – The Learning Partnership Group. During the question and answer session many members spoke up in support of the proposal and stressed the need for VSF to continue as a strong voice of the voluntary sector in Cornwall.

Members also gave a warm reception to Jenny Fish of the Big Lottery Fund who spoke about how their new regional office would provide more local support to charities and social purpose organisations.

Members of Cornwall VSF will be kept up to date with the progress of the proposed Learning Partnership Group, as discussions progress.
