Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP and Cornwall Council have commissioned S4W Ltd to undertake research into the contribution of European Economic Area (EEA) or migrant workers to Cornwall’s economy and public services. The research is to inform the CIOS LEP’s economic strategies, programmes and partnership work.
In July 2017, the Government commissioned the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) to advise on the economic and social impacts of the UK’s exit from the EU. Cornwall Council and LEP have commissioned some research on the impact of Brexit for the labour market and the contribution of European Economic Area (EEA) workers to Cornwall’s economy and public services. This will ensure that their responses to Government consultations on post-Brexit immigration policy are supported by a detailed and up-to-date evidence base.
They are keen to engage with as many organisations as possible in order to submit a comprehensive response to the MAC call for evidence, both from those organisations recruiting migrant workers but also organisations that are foreign owned.
The survey closes on 6th October.
