Who Dares Works is a tailored programme of support to enable people to overcome barriers to employment or education. It is a partnership project that utilities the expertise of Community Interest Companies in Cornwall. The project supports individuals to access employment, education or training by helping them to overcome any barriers they have.
Participants will be matched with a mentor who will support them through their time on the project, referral them to the different activities available.
Through the project, participants can access a wealth of support, including health and wellbeing support, employability skills, such as CV building, job application and interview preparation, as well as building confidence and self belief. The scheme also offers industry insight and experience through a variety of Work Related Activity, such as the Who Dares Builds project where participants work on a construction site for two weeks and Who Dares Cares where you can learn about working in the care industry.
To complete the project, participants are also able to tap into housing support, debt and money management advice, IT support and community clubs.
To be eligible for the project, you must be 18 or over, unemployed or economically inactive and living in West Cornwall.
Three intro sessions are being offered in the next couple of weeks, with 3-minute slots available to potential participants:
Friday 25 September, 10-12 – Hayle
Monday 28 September, 10-12 – Helston
Wednesday 30 September, 10-12 – Penzance
