The Department for Work and Pensions, together with the Local Enterprise Partnership in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are running a pilot to help people take stock of their health, skills and wealth as part of later life planning.
The trials will help the DWP understand the actions individuals take as a result of undertaking the mid-life MOT, the user needs among those most at risk of experiencing long term unemployment and the effectiveness of using local delivery channels and how these can complement the Money and Pensions Service (MAPs), the National Careers Service (NCS) and Public Health England (PHE), in supporting individuals with later life planning.
We have developed a Mid Life MOT resource page that can be used by individuals, but also by Influencers in the community, like social prescribing teams, to share with the people they are working with. The resources on the site can be shared easily – there is also a short survey that can be completed by individuals or influencers on behalf of people they are working with.
Please share this among your network and with those individuals you feel would benefit from a Mid Life MOT. There is also a short survey on the site that you can complete alongside any individuals you are working with.
There is also a page on the Growth Hub Site for Employers with links to checklist, age audit survey and other useful resources and there is also a link to book on the free Employer Engagement event on Tuesday 20 April, 11am – 12.30pm.
