Cornwall Council has been sending messages to town and parish Councils recently regarding their community governance review.  If you represent a town or parish council, you should already be aware of this, but if your’e not, you may be interested, and may even need to take action.

Community Governance Review

Cornwall Council is undertaking a Community Governance Review for the whole of Cornwall, considering parish boundaries, ward arrangements and names, and the number of seats.

They have now produced information leaflets and posters about this process, and these can be downloaded from the Council’s website.

  • The leaflet provides an introduction to the purpose and process of the Community Governance Review. It is designed to be of use throughout the review process and summarises information already available on the  Cornwall Council website and signposts people to that site for further information.
  • The information leaflet can be circulated to residents as a digital document. A limited number of hard copies are available and can be requested by contacting
  • The posters are available for you to print and use on notice boards as appropriate to promote the review to local residents. One version of the poster includes a blank ‘text box’ that you can use to add locally relevant information, ie to promote a local meeting to discuss the review, local council contact for more information about the review etc.

If your Council has not yet responded, we strongly recommend that they make a formal submission by 17 July 2019.

In addition, the Council is asking for views on their Climate Change proposals:
