Four free online parenting courses are being launched for families across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The courses have been created by the Solihull Approach and they focus on supporting the relationships between parents, grandparents, and/or carers and their children by improving emotional health and wellbeing.

The courses provide information about pregnancy and birth, brain development and the physical and emotional development of your baby. The courses are being launched in Cornwall at the start of Infant Mental Health Awareness Week which runs from 7 – 12 June and the theme this year is ‘seeing the world through babies’ eyes’.

Funding for this has been provided by Local Maternity Systems from across Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and Devon, which is made up of representatives from across health and care including Cornwall Council’s Public Health and NHS Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group.

The partnership also includes doctors and midwives from Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and volunteers from the Maternity Voices Partnership.

You can discover more about these courses by visiting the Together for Families section of the Cornwall Council website.

Access to the free online courses is also available at using the code TAMAR, which provides lifetime access.  The courses are available in different languages including Urdu, Polish, Chinese, Bulgarian and Arabic.
