Movember has three strands this year;

  • improving quality of life for men with prostate cancer and testicular cancer,
  • preventing suicide in men and
  • shining a light on the health risks men need to know about, increasing awareness to stop men dying too young.

Veg Pledge

Veg Pledge is a fundraising challenge where you go vegetarian or vegan for one month and get sponsored to do so, to raise money for Cancer Research.

Mouth Cancer Action

Mouth Cancer Action Month aims to raise awareness of the disease in an attempt to get more mouth cancers diagnosed at an early stage. They are asking everyone to show their support by making Wednesday 13 November ‘Blue Wednesday’. You can take part by buying a blue ribbon badge, pick out something blue to wear or don on a bright blue lipstick. Help us to raise awareness of mouth cancer by showing your support.

Trustees Week

Trustees play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity’s work. Trustees’ Week is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.

Anti-Bullying week

Anti-Bullying Week happens in schools across England each November. This year’s Anti-Bullying Week has the theme Change Starts With Us and the goal is to inform schools and settings, children and young people, parents and carers to know that it takes a collective responsibility to stop bullying.

11-17 November

Alcohol Awareness Week

This year’s Alcohol Awareness Week will highlight the impact that alcohol can have on our bodies, our lives and those we love. Alcohol Change UK will be sharing digital resources (posters, factsheets, social media images) to encourage people to act to reduce their risk or seek help if they need it. ​

Road Safety Week

This theme for 2019 is “Step up for Safe Streets” and learn about, shout about and celebrate the amazing design-led solutions that will allow us all to get around in safe and healthy ways, every day.

6 November – Stress Awareness Day

Being under pressure is a normal part of life but becoming overwhelmed by stress can lead to mental health problems or make existing problems worse. National Stress Awareness Day is a great opportunity to take a moment to think about your wellbeing and find advice or support on managing stress

14 November – World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day is the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign reaching a global audience of over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries. The campaign draws attention to issues of paramount importance to the diabetes world and keeps diabetes firmly in the public and political spotlight.

20 November – World COPD Day

COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) affects 1.2 million people in the UK, and millions more have COPD but don’t even know it. British Lung Foundation are the only UK charity looking after the nation’s lungs, and they’re researching COPD to find new treatments and cures.

21 November – Carers Rights

Each year, Carers Rights Day helps to ensure carers are aware of their rights, let carers know where to get help and support and raise awareness of the needs of carers.

25 November – White Ribbon Day

A day that brings together thousands of people in the UK to raise awareness and work towards ending male violence against women. This year the theme of White Ribbon Day is “Creating a future without male violence against women” with the focus on engaging with young men and boys in particular.
