Cornwall VSF and Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) joined forces on Friday (25th Nov) for the first LEP roadshow.

Designed specifically for the voluntary and community sector, the event at Eden Project was the first of many LEP roadshows that are planned for Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

The afternoon event aimed to increase awareness of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) among social purpose organisations active in Cornwall and explore ways in which the social purpose sector could engage with Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP collectively.

Attendees heard from Chris Pomfret (Chairperson, LEP) as he discussed the need for VCOs to take the driving seat and move away from grant dependency and be enterprising. Later took part in a workshop to discuss ways this can be done and any barriers to growth that may exist.
