Her Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service has introduced video calling from prisons, to help those inside to stay connected with friends and family, while visiting has been restricted.

Video calls can last up to 30 minutes, and each prisoner can have up to 4 visitors on the call.

Following a successful pilot at HMP Berwyn, this scheme is being rolled out at HMPs Bronzefield, Downview, Eastwood Park, Garth, High Down, Hull, Wayland, Werrington and Wetherby. Others will follow in the coming weeks.

You can read more about how to arrange video calls, and the restrictions that will apply, on the Gov.uk website.
