Healthwatch Cornwall gives individuals and communities a voice and enables them to both influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided in their area.
We also aim to raise awareness among commissioners, providers and other agencies about the importance of engaging with communities in their discussions and decision-making on health and social care issues.
We currently have a vacancy for an Outreach and Engagement Officer based in Truro, but working across Cornwall, so a car owner/driver is essential. As part of a small outreach team, you will work 21 hours per week with a salary of £23,513 (pro rata equivalent £14,108). Actual days will be negotiated, but will ideally include Tuesday and Thursday, and this is a fixed term contract until March 30 2019, subject to funding review thereafter.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work with our other Outreach and Engagement Officers to develop, co-ordinate and deliver a community outreach plan which involves promoting Healthwatch Cornwall, and organising and attending community outreach activity at events throughout Cornwall. You will work with, and support, a number of volunteers as well as contributing to the wider operational team.
You should have highly developed interpersonal skills together with flexibility, attention to detail and the drive to see tasks through to completion.
