iSightCornwall is an award winning local charity providing support and encouragement to people living with sight loss to lead active, independent, and involved lives, at home, in the workplace, in their education, and by no means least, in their social lives. Founded in 1856, to support Cornish miners affected with sight loss, we are proud of our heritage as one of the longest standing, and earliest, charities in Cornwall.
We are seeking a people person with passion and enthusiasm for delivering high quality services to vulnerable people. You need to be a team player but can also work on your own initiative. You need proven networking and negotiating skills, a creative approach to problem solving, and excellent planning and administration skills.
As a Community Development Officer, you will provide outreach support services to people with sight loss across Cornwall. You will work collaboratively with voluntary and statutory sector partners, alongside volunteers, to deliver integrated sight loss services within local communities, which are more easily accessible. You will have excellent communication and customer service skills with the confidence and ability to work on your own initiative.
