The Convergence Partnership Office has issued a detailed statement in response to this week’s freeze on investments for future Convergence projects funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The statement acknowledges that, “changes in Government policy and spending are likely to affect the shape and mechanisms for the implementation of Convergence but the opportunities and the mission of the two programmes remain undiminished.”

It also clarifies the current position of European Social Fund (ESF) Convergence investments. Voluntary and community sector groups get most of their Convergence funding through ESF.
