This week the Independent Office for Police Conduct launched the #MakeYourselfHeard campaign to raise awareness of the #SilentSolution system and how to get police help when you’re too scared to speak.
The instructions are clear –
1 – Dial 999
2 – Listen to the questions from the 999 operator
3 – Respond by coughing or tapping the handset if you can
4 – if prompted, press 55. This will let the operator know that it’s a genuine emergency, not an accidental dialling, and you will be put through to the police.
This is being launched this week, which is National Stalking Awareness Week.
