Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum is the voice of voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Our aim is to work with others to create a thriing and effective voluntary sector.

Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum is working in partnership with local agencies in Newquay (via Newquay Community Orchard) to bring together organisations and individuals that are already doing excellent work  in this community. We know that by working together we stand a better chance of achieving and sustaining the changes we all seek. We believe that grassroots initiatives always stand a greater chance of making an impact than top-down campaigns imposed by us.

Our aim is to encourage and facilitate this social action in Newquay to benefit this area. People there know the strengths and assets of their own community, and we would like to invite those people to  a workshop on July 25th in Newquay, where we will work with them to explore these important issues, and investigate solutions. Our aim is to grow local capacity to act, and work with local partners as equals.  Anyone who carries out voluntary work in the Newquay area is welcome to attend the meeting, together with public sector staff, faith groups, and other interested organisations and individuals.

We hope that by helping to bring people together to exchange ideas and information we can enhance social action to the benefit of each local area. Locals know the strengths and assets of their communities better than we do, and you understand their problems too.

This workshop will work with you to explore the issues that are important to you, and investigate solutions. The outcomes of this workshop will feed into discussions we are having with Newquay Orchard to consider what further help may be available, such as funding and training.

The events will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm, and include a free lunch, plus opportunity to network.  Please book your ticket using the links below, so we know numbers for the catering, and let us know of any dietary or access requirements by email.
