If your organisation has contact with vulnerable adults then you should think about attending the Voluntary and Community Sector Conference for Safeguarding Adults.

Organised by Cornwall Rural Community Council (CRCC)  and Cornwall Council the conference is for any voluntary and community sector organisation that has contact with vulnerable adults, not just those providing direct social care services. The conference will provide advice, information and practical tools.

The event will be held on Friday 20th January 2012 between 9:30am – 4pm at Wadebridge Showground.

Speakers include:

  • Rob Cooper, Independent Chair of the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Adults Board
  • Steve Besford-Foster, Cornwall Council, Localism Team

There will be the opportunity to learn about key topics in a Safeguarding Adults context:

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Leadership
  • Business benefits of embracing Safeguarding Adult principles
  • Human Rights
  • What happens when an alert is made
  • Learning and development opportunities for staff and volunteers

To book please contact Lisa Lepley on 01872 323625 or email llepley@cornwall.gov.uk. Alternatively you can download a booking form.

Priority for places will be given to organisations who are delivering public sector services or hope to tender for them in the foreseeable future.
