Safer Cornwall is promoting International Restorative Justice week, between 19 and 26 November.

Restorative justice is all about bringing together the victims of crime with those responsible, to find a way forward. It offers the victim the chance to have their views heard and a say in the way to repair the harm done. This can include agreeing activities for the culprit to do as part of taking responsibility for their actions and repairing the damage they have caused.

The Devon and Cornwall Police administer Restorative Justice in Cornwall, and their website gives more information about how the scheme works here, and how victims of crime can request the opportunity to be part of it.

RJ week 2017 has its own hashtag – #RJWeek, and a theme this year of Inspiring Innovation.
