The latest report from Ian Jones, VCS rep on the Environment Kernow partnership.

The meeting was not very well attended, with only three representatives.

The focus of meeting was on the development of a Biodiversity Action Plan and Local Nature Partnerships (LNP). This follows on from the Natural Environment White Paper.  The White Paper says there should be links between the LNP with the Local Enterprise Partnerships.

July’s meeting will focus on EU Common Agricultural Policy and Cornwall Council’s Big Conversation, including Future Cornwall and the future of Environment Kernow.

A new strategic plan will re-look at the partnership’s plan for the next twelve months with a possible focus on the following:

  • Land management
  • Ecological restoration zones
  • Waste
  • Renewable energy and resource efficiency
  • Increasing environmental engagement (Wellbeing)
  • Behavioural change

EK has a conference on Tuesday 29 March at Pool Innovation Centre, 10am to 3:30pm
