Cornwall Islamic Centre is holding an open day on Saturday 29th April. The open day aims to show the wider community the restoration and renovation of Carnon Downs Methodist Chapel for its use as a Centre for Cornwall’s Islamic Community.

It will also offer an opportunity for people to come and  meet members of the Islamic Community. There will be short presentations on what Muslims believe and on how the Centre is serving its community and the neighbourhood.

Revd. Andrew Yates, chair of Cornwall Faith Forum said,

‘All the Faith Communities in Cornwall are supporting  this event and hope the wider population of Cornwall will take this opportunity to come and meet members of the Islamic Faith of Cornwall and discover this may be very different from the distorted images we often find in the national media. ‘

All are welcome to drop in between 11.30am and 2pm. Refreshments representing the wide cultural diversity of the community will be served. The Cornwall Islamic Centre is situated at Quenchwell Road, Carnon Downs, Truro TR3 6LN.
