Mencap and Cornwall Sports Partnership are co-running the Round the World Challenge for people with learning disabilities, challenging them to get active by doing something fun and engaging in their local communities.
The Round the World Challenge works by getting participants to track the amount of activity they do. The number of hours of activity completed is then used to calculate the distance travelled around the world. If you take part you’ll receive a postcard from a different location as the number of hours of activity you do takes you further around the world.
Activities are currently scheduled at Penzance Leisure Centre every Tuesday from 29 January:
- mixed sports, 10-12 term time only
- swimming, 11-2 every week
- gym, 12-1 every week
Activities are free until the end of February, and then £1 per person. Show your Round the World Passport at reception.
Activities are going to be added at more venues in due course, check the Get Active Cornwall website for more details.
