This scheme is for carers who are concerned about what would happen if they were taken ill, in an accident or if another emergency stopped them from getting to the person they care for.
The scheme is open to all carers aged over 18 years who are caring for a person who is also over the age of 18 years who lives in Cornwall.
The card carried by the carer alerts anyone giving them medical attention that a) they are a carer with someone depending on them for support and b) who they should notify. Details of two back-up carers are given on the card, to be contacted in case of emergency.
You can find out about the scheme and how to apply, on the Support in Cornwall website.
