Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is an approach to improving health and a way of encouraging and helping people to make healthier choices and achieve positive long-term behaviour change. These are typically around a healthy lifestyle: nutrition, smoking cessation, alcohol use, mental wellbeing but the principles can be used in any scenario. Attached is a new poster for Healthy Cornwall’s 3 hour MECC courses, coming up in the next few months.
Saturday 12 October, 9.30-12.30, Camborne
Saturday 9 November, 9.30-12.30 Bodmin
Thursday 21 November, 5.30-8.30, Camborne
Thursday 12 December, 5.30-8.30, Camborne
Healthy Cornwall are also looking to fill up the next MECC train the trainer. If you know of any local organisations that have groups of volunteers/others who are working with groups in our communities, and have a person on staff who is a trainer, then if you can share or point them my way. This train the trainer course is free of charge, it is 2 days 10-2pm each day on 18 & 25 Oct. They will also have more in January.
