The Media Trust has published the first of three resources that they’ve created as part of their ‘reframing disability in the news’ project.
This guide has been designed by Media Trust and Disability Rights UKto support and equip experts, who also happen to be disabled, to take part in media interviews on TV or radio. The guide includes ideas on what journalists are looking for, tips on preparing for an interview and more.
Disabled people make up more than 20% of the population but are currently under-represented on our screens and in particular on the news. Media Trust’s Reframing Disability in News programme aims to increase the representation and visibility of disabled people in broadcast news.
