The Charity Knowledge Hub is holding a series of online Gift Aid workshops, delivered by Phil Robson of Giftease, from 19 January.
The course is recommended for anyone who works with Gift Aid, fundraisers, trustees, supporter care staff, finance, etc. Delegates need to sign up for the whole series of workshops, and alternative dates later in the year are offered, if those below don’t work. Donor Education and Networking Tues 19th Jan 10am – 12pm Mandatory Module 1a: Scottish Tax Rates and Donor Education For charities based in Scotland to understand what they need to tell donors and any differences in rates. Tues 19th Jan 1pm – 2pm Optional for those based in Scotland Module 2: Gift Aid Declarations – What must be included Declarations (written, electronic, oral) – What is valid, invalid and must be included and breakout session Tues 26th Jan 10am – 12.15pm Mandatory Module 3: Gift Aid Declarations – Repairing a GAD and Joint Records. How to repair an invalid GAD and how to manage Joint records. Thurs 28th Jan 10am – 12.30pm Mandatory Module 4: GASDS Explaining who can claim under the GASDS, record keeping, processes and why it isn’t Gift Aid Tues 2nd Feb 10am – 11am Optional for those running GASDS Module 5: Gift Aid Housekeeping A look at what records you should keep, databases, systems and processes Tues 2nd Feb 11.30am – 1pm Mandatory Module 6: HMRC Audits Purpose of audit, what to expect at HMRC audit, what they will review and what penalties you could get. Thurs 4th Feb 10am – 11.30am Mandatory Module 7: The Benefits Rules – the basics The 5 Rules, what qualifies, different methods to calculate benefits, overview of benefits. Tues 9th Feb 10am – 12pm Mandatory Module 8: The Benefit Rules – Membership How the Benefit Rules apply to Memberships, how to work out the benefit allowance and ring fencing Thurs 11th Feb 10am – 12pm Optional for those with Memberships Module 9: The Benefit Rules – Individual Donors How the Benefit Rules apply to Individual donors, how to annualise and aggregate benefits Tues 16th Feb 10am – 11am Mandatory Module 10: The Benefit Rules – Admissions How the Benefit Rules apply to Admission Sites, how to work out the benefit allowance and ring fencing Tues 16th Feb 11.30am – 12.45pm Optional for those with Admission sites Module 11: The Benefit Rules – Sponsored Events and Connected Persons Rule How the Benefit Rules apply to Sponsored Events, how to work out the benefit allowance, ring fencing and the connected person rules Thurs 18th Feb 10am – 12.15pm Optional for those that have sponsored events Module 12: Question Time A final group session to ask any questions or voice any queries that have arisen since the module.
