BF Adventure have announced a new course for those aged 16-18, starting in March.
the course is fully funded, and runs for three days a week, until July 2018. There are 8 spaces per cohort, and these are being snapped up fast, so if you know of anyone who might be suitable, contact BF Adventure as soon as possible.
The course delivery comprises an accredited Level 1 Certificate in Progression, functional skills delivered on the BF site (Maths & English up to Level 2). It will be creatively delivered using their 60 acre activity site near Penryn. Meaningful work experience placements will also be arranged as part of the course.
The course is suitable for any young people wishing to gain life skills, but would be ideal for those wanting to work in outdoor and youth work areas. The programme focuses on social skills, wellbeing, and self-esteem as well as progression planning in order to feed into further learning, training or employment. Activities include kayaking, forest school, archery, team building and climbing. In addition, young people will receive 1:1 sessions and support throughout to provide IAG as required, review their development needs as well as exploring progression options and planning.
Transport can be provided from cluster pickup areas to include – Camborne, Redruth, Penryn and Falmouth. There is also a training bursary, subject to eligibility and weekly attendance.
If you have any young people who you think would benefit from this, please contact Rachael Stephens on 01326 340912 or email@example.com. BF can offer a range of engagement options to include a meeting, site tour and/or taster day ahead of the course start with the young person. They will be holding taster days at the end of February, dates TBC but please get in touch to book a place!
