FareShare aims to tackle food waste by redistributing surplus food to those who will use it. The FareShare Go service enables community projects to collect free food donations on a weekly basis from their nearest supermarket.
FareShare Go – How does it work?
All it requires is one person, once a week, to go to their nearest participating food store and collect the surplus food. This is a completely free project. Once matched with a suitable store, an app notification will go out to let the group know what food is available on that day and all they have to do is pick the food up. All of the food is in date, very much usable and could benefit the groups service users and volunteers.
Please find the links to videos, which presents a demonstration of the process, on YouTube.
