Nathan Heyes of Aquila Consulting is running a data protection compliance training and workshop session, specifically for charities and voluntary organisations, to not only teach you the fundamental principles and essential terminology of data protection legislation, but also delve deeper in to the legislation and look at what you and your organisation need to be doing to become and remain compliant. The workshop sessions will introduce you to some of the more complex areas of current data protection legislation to ensure you gain a firm grasp of your responsibilities as a data controller.

The course is designed for ‘data owners’ i.e. managers, CEOs, Directors – the people who are responsible for data and policies, at the highest level.
The session will begin with coffee and lunch, with informal networking being encouraged as well. There will also be other coffee breaks throughout to make sure you don’t get overloaded with too much information in one go, and also to give you some time to chat and reflect on what is being discussed. The session will come to an end with a Q&A session to answer any burning questions you may have and there will be a further opportunity for more informal networking, coffee and reflection and the day’s topic.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
- 1.00 – arrive for coffee, lunch and informal networking;
- 1.45 – introduction and session starts;
- 2.15 – short coffee break;
- 2.30 – session resumes;
- 3.30 – short coffee break;
- 3.45 – session resumes;
- 4.45 – Q&A session;
- 5.00 – session ends for more networking;
- 5.30 – event finishes.
A minimum of ten participants is need to book for the event to be able to run, and must be booked by the 14 February 2020. There is a maximum capacity of 25.
