Funding and continued sustainability remain the biggest issues in the latest Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum quarterly survey tracking the ‘state of the sector’.

The third survey reveals a continuing picture of uncertainty for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, with pressure on financial reserves the biggest factor. Other themes included difficulty recruiting and retaining staff and volunteers, and the knock-on effect of savings being made in the public sector.

While there were concerns over the likely impact of Brexit, there was optimism about EU programmes starting now in the sector, and that charities will support more people in the coming months.
