50 for Free – Free stays in historic buildings, for charities and non-profits
The Landmark Trust has for many years offered 50 self-catering breaks in its amazing historic properties absolutely free to charities and non-profit organisations.
Their press release states: “Covid-19 has made 2020 an unprecedented year but our buildings are open as usual wherever government guidelines permit. So once again we’re reaching out to help those who need it most. We’re planning for the 50 for Free stays to go ahead as usual in March 2021, provided prevailing government guidance at the time permits.”
They are now inviting applications for 50 for Free short breaks in March 2021 in landmarks across England, Scotland and Wales. Stays must of course be contingent on local and national government guidance in force at the time of the stay – but the stays themselves will be as wonderful as ever. (Please note that they cannot accept applications from individuals, only from charitable organisations.)
Organisations that have had a 50 for Free stay in other years are eligible to apply again.
Charities can apply by midday Thursday 3rd December by filling in a simple form on behalf of people they think would particularly benefit from a stay in a Landmark building – for example, respite stays for personal or professional carers, away-time to plan for the busy third sector, a few days away for disadvantaged children’s groups or struggling families, or a thank you to valued volunteers.
Landmark covers all accommodation costs (and the cost of transport over to the island of Lundy). Applicants just need to be able to fund travel, food and any other associated costs (if necessary) for those on whose behalf they apply.
50 for Free seeks to spread more widely the happiness that Landmarks brings. They want to do their bit to help others who may be finding life a little difficult, or those who are working towards a worthwhile aim. Read feedback from previous beneficiaries.
You have until 12pm 3 December 2020 to apply – please do. Your 50 for Free application could transform lives.
You can find out more, and apply, on the Landmarks Trust website.
