How we can support you
Here are some recent examples where Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum has been assisting VCSE organisations, so they can get on with what they do best. If you would like to discuss your requirements and how we could help your organisation, please email email@example.com.
Safer Stronger Consortium
We have been working with this Cornwall partnership to cover recent changes in their senior management. Cornwall VSF has provided administrative and communications support for the partnership, maintaining the website and managing the regular e-newsletter to members. As well as making sure the partnership continued to operate smoothly, VSF has also advised on ways to develop and improve the website and marketing. www.saferstronger.com
CASSPlus provides advice and support to anyone attending court or tribunal hearings and their families. VSF supported them to bid for funding from the Local Sustainability Fund, delivered by the Big Lottery on behalf of the Cabinet Office.
Since then, we have worked on a governance review to check their existing policies and procedures, and created a business plan that will help the organisation grow and become sustainable through funding uncertainty. This has in turn led to a communications and marketing plan being developed. VSF’s ability to co-ordinate and manage access to specialist expertise in these areas has been invaluable. cassplus.org
Working with Cornwall VSF has developed my understanding of the role of infrastructure organisations generally. They have helped me to understand and better appreciate the ‘uniqueness’ of who we are. They have helped me to think more strategically – building my self-confidence.
Their understanding of community resource has been critical to developing associated support throughout this project and in the longer term. Links to ‘specialists’ have been critical and well-advised. They have helped me to navigate my first experience of managing a Lottery budget, which was scary in the initial stages.
They have respected our journey and given me a point of contact for when I have been unsure. It has been refreshing for me to have a ‘sounding board’ but also for me to have reassurance that I am on the right track.
Looking at governance issues and business planning helped me to fine-tune some strategic skills. Developing website and marketing support, alongside funding strategies and evaluations were all areas that were much needed and have created a launchpad into our next phase as a charity.Carole Edwards
