Cornwall VSF is working closely with Cornwall Rural Community Charity (CRCC) to run some funding bid writing training online to support small organisations, following requests for this training through our survey. This course is specifically tailored for small organisations, looking to win bids of up to £20,000.
Thee course will take place online on Thursdays, in the Autumn: 17 September, 24 September, 1 October and 8 October, from 9.30-1.30, with a coffee break.
There will be a nominal charge of £10 per person (access to all 4 sessions!) and it will be delivered by successful bid-writer Gemma Finnegan, of CRCC, who has won many funding bids for CRCC and partners, and loves to share her expertise with other organisations.
The 4 modules will look at:
- Where to find funding. Tools and tips to find funders.
- Evidence of need. How do you demonstrate your project/work is needed.
- Writing the bid. Top tips for completing funding bids.
- Evaluation & Monitoring. You’ve been successful but still need to communicate impact with the funder. How to easily monitor your work and report back.
We highly recommend you attend all 4 to get the full benefit of the training. Sessions are 4 hours with a break in the middle and the opportunity for discussion and peer learning. All presentation and other materials will be available to participants.
CRCC can also arrange for any participant new to Zoom to receive a support call from our friendly neighborhood digital team to go through how to use the platform ahead of attending the session.
To book, please email Sharon Davey at CRCC on firstname.lastname@example.org. The CRCC website will be able to take bookings and payments from next week (link to follow), but a payment can be made over the phone to secure your place. There will be a waiting list in operation, if there is a lot of interest, as places are limited to 20 people.
As this training is tailored for small organisations, those new to writing funding bids, and for bids less than £20,000, it may not be suitable for all organisations. Please contact Gemma (email@example.com) to discuss whether this is a good fit for your organisation, if you are in doubt. Gemma is planning to run a step-up version of the training, covering the areas that are applicable to more experienced bid-writers, larger organisations, and larger bids, in the Autumn, and will be taking names of those who are interested.
