Hall for Cornwall’s Community Club are on the lookout for community groups who would benefit from their free first-time theatre visits.

In May 2013, Hall for Cornwall was awarded £500,000 over five years by The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, in order to support audience development activity across Cornwall, targeting communities and groups who may not usually have the means to visit theatre.
Various initiatives have been developed to support this work including Community Club Membership, discounted ticket schemes/vouchers, behind the scenes events, relaxed performances and the establishment of a pre-show Community Social Club.

1,500 people have now signed up as members of the Community Club following their first group visit. Club members benefit from exclusive offers of workshops, tours, talks and discounted tickets for Hall for Cornwall shows. In return, they simply ask for participants’ feedback on their visits.

Hall for Cornwall is especially committed to supporting community members who face social exclusion or barriers to visiting the theatre. They want to learn about different people’s experiences and perceptions of the theatre, to help them develop their offer and welcome to all.

If you would like to join or nominate a group or are part of a group that would benefit from the scheme, please get in touch with Frances Walsh on francesw@hallforcornwall.org.uk
