Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum has appointed Richard Williams as its new chairman.

Richard began his career in the voluntary sector. He was Head of Family Services at Cornwall County Council between 2005/09. This included responsibility for the Sure Start programme and he led the work on child poverty in Cornwall that achieved Beacon status. He went on to be Director of Children’s Services at Torbay Council between 2011/16. He has been retired for the past 2 years.

Richard says,

“I am delighted to become the new chairman of VSF.  This is a very challenging time for us as I know it is for many of you, and even more so for the people and causes we all try to support.  I look forward to meeting many of you over the coming months”

Richard and the board would like to record their thanks to our outgoing chairman, Jonathan Adlington for all his time and effort over the last 6 years. Jonathan will be staying on the board until our AGM in the autumn.
