Convergence is the European economic regeneration programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
It is made up of two funds that will pump £712 million into the Cornish economy by 2013.
It invests in many different projects across the public, private and voluntary and community sectors through the European Social Fund (ESF) and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) focuses on improving economic structures and creating jobs. Notable ERDF Convergence investments include Superfast Cornwall and Pool Innovation Centre.
The European Social Fund (ESF) breaks down barriers to employment and gives people more skills to contribute to the Cornish economy. Notable ESF Convergence investments include Response To Redundancy and Cornwall School for Social Entrepreneurs.
Most opportunities for the voluntary sector to help deliver Convergence come through the ESF.
