Improving access to social housing for members of the Armed Forces – Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government
The government states that it is committed to ensuring that those who serve in the Armed Forces and their families, and those who have served in the past, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public services.
This consultation sets out proposals for new statutory guidance for local authorities to assist members of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their families, to access social housing.

Pregnancy and maternity discrimination: extending redundancy protection for women and new parents – Department for Business, Energy and industrial Strategy
This consultation seeks views on extending redundancy protection for pregnant women and new parents. It also sets out more widely what the department is doing to tackle pregnancy and maternity discrimination, and explain the current law on redundancy protection.
Recommendations include extending the current provision to the whole of the pregnancy and a period after, and the consultation looks at how best to achieve that, and how to include shared parental leave and adoption leave in the new arrangements.

Housing needs in St Mawgan in Pydar – Cornwall Council
St. Mawgan-in-Pydar Parish Council and Cornwall Council are working in partnership to conduct an online survey to establish the need for housing and help to ascertain what kind of housing, including affordable housing local people in the parish need.
The results of this survey will help the Parish Council in planning for future development. Please complete this survey even if you are already registered with Cornwall Homechoice or Help to Buy South-West.
