The Charity Retail Association, umbrella body of charity shops, has been publishing guidance to charity shops preparing to reopen. The latest version, number 5, has recently been published, and you can download it from their website. It contains risk assessments, health and safety plans, and other critical information around reopening.
They are taking part in campaigns to encourage older volunteers back into charity shops, and working with the National Citizen Service to encourage 16 and 17 year-olds to volunteer (normally the lower age limit is 18).
They are also expecting a huge surge in clothes and other donations, as many people have held clear-outs during lockdown.
