Steve Clark Attended Main Areas of Discussion were: Terms of Reference Membership Coordinated approach to Workforce Reform Issues for Next Meeting include: Update from IVO Issues the VCS need to respond to are: Watching brief at the moment to make sure we are actively involved.  Confident we have those links in place via CYWP/IVO and association with VSF via CIP.

COUNCILS SHOULDN’T CUT OUT THIRD SECTOR IN EFFECIENCY DRIVE

Councils should consider the unique skills and benefits the third sector has to offer when improving local public services, Communities Secretary John Denham said in a keynote speech to the New Local Government Network. Mr Denham said councils shouldn’t ignore the social outcomes the third sector can provide such as jobs for the workless or better services, in the stampede the hunt down the cheapest deal. Cornwall Time Banks

Volunteer Cornwall has just opened the first Cornish Time Bank in St Austell. The Time Bank provides a way for people in St Austell to exchange time with each other on household skills and hobbies. The Time Banking movement started in America and since 1998 over 100 Time Banks are now running across the UK.
