Ambitions is a new project, set up by Careers South West and ESF funded. Its aim is to get young people 15-24 years old who are not in education or employment, back on to the path to employment, with a programme that is individualised to them.
There are several partners all working together under Ambitions to cater for all needs, as we can all work together. Cornwall Council is a partner and there are four roles within their structure which will be working with Ambitions young people.
- 2 Education Partnership Board Project Officers – Kylie Cooper-Jones (West Cornwall) and Lorena Clavijo (East Cornwall). It is their job to work directly with the young people.
- A SEND Education and Employment Lead – Jacqueline Chantler – who can offer training and information to Employers about Disabilities.
- Access to Work Co-ordinator – Dawn Yarwood – sharing information about Access to Work within Cornwall. Dawn is happy to meet anyone who is interested in finding out more. See the Access to Work website for more information, or email her: Dawn.Yarwood@cornwall.gov.uk
People can refer through the main Ambitions website , and young people will then be passed on to the most appropriate partner to meet their specific needs.
