Amber Accommodation provides residential supported accommodation in Surrey , Devon and Wiltshire to children from the age of 16 +, and is open for young people from Cornwall as well.

Amber provides:

  • Independent Living Skills
  • ETE opportunities
  • Referral to appropriate outside agencies
  • Drug testing
  • Dreams and Desires
  • 24/7 support for low to medium support needs
  • Social skills – through shared living and positive peer support
  • Time away from negative peer groups; time to think
  • Feedback to referrers – recording soft outcomes, one to one weekly assessments and partnership working

We can accommodate

  • HDC / curfew requirements
  • Low intensity DRRs
  • Those assessed as high risk of reoffending
  • People from out of area can still apply

Who can apply to Amber?

  • Age 17 – 30 (male or female)
  • Drug free on entry (28 days to get clean from cannabis use)
  • Offending history
  • Homelessness
  • Care leavers
  • Commitment to lifestyle change
  • Depression, ADHD and other low impact mental health issues
  • Recently completed drug or alcohol detox

Who can’t apply to Amber?

  • Sex Offenders Register / “a known risk to children”
  • Tests positive for Class A or B drugs within the meaning of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971
  • Complex mental health issues
  • Pregnant
  • On script (Methadone or Subutex)
  • Taking DF118 or similar codeine based analgesics
  • Serious recent alcohol misuse problems (not detoxed)
  • Assessed by National Probation Service as high risk of serious harm to self or others
