Following the announcement earlier in the year regarding the closure of Age Concern’s Truro Day Centre, they have now announced that alternative provision has been found for all the people who attended the day centre, and everyone is settled into their new activities.
Falmouth, St Austell and Newquay day centres have found places for many of the people who used to go to Truro, and others are going to Cafe Chaos. A monthly lunch has been organised at the Victoria Inn in Threemeilstone, and taster days are being run at Truro Methodist Church.
Age Concern are keen to thank all those who helped them to re situate all the people who used to use Truro day centre, and their staff and volunteers. “We want to thank the many wonderful people & organisations that have offered their support, time & resources during this process of change. Our aim is to create fun, safe & stimulating environments that offer a wide menu of support options, ultimately meaning a more tailored approach to the needs of each individual.”
